The Big Picnic

I coordinated two art workshops and six bands for the Big Lunch 'Big Picnic' event, Sun 5th June at St Nicholas Rest Garden, Brighton, working with St Nicholas Green Spaces Association. We suffered a little at first from the heavy rain (not ideal for an outdoor event) but quickly got a gazebo up for the bands and went on with the show. Thanks to everyone who came and to the workshop leaders and bands who did such a great job. There was a good community atmosphere despite the rain and we're already looking forward to next year!

Bournemouth Children's Poetry Anthology

I'm contributing an illustration for the Lord Mayor's Children's Poetry Prize Anthology 2011, published by Bournemouth Arts, edited and with illustrations by Zoe Scammell.

My illustration is for a poem called Future Bournemouth, by a child writing about a future filled with 'exotic spiders' and 'motorbike riders', 'different colour trees' and 'no need for keys', among other wonderful things.
